Yes you can but I have found that it is not as successful as the blender method. The whisking process requires a lot of attention and the result is not as creamy. If you want to try this method, make your ice cream base, and pour it into a large bowl that stores in the freezer. Place the plate in the freezer, and every hour, remove the plate from the freezer and pour the ice cream mixture and add air. You can use a stationary bike if you have one. Return to the freezer and return every hour, stirring again, until you reach the consistency of ice cream. This will take about 8 hours.
Prepare your ice cream base according to the recipe. Make sure the recipe is not made to fit in your blender. I used my recipe for Vegan Vanilla Ice Cream. Yum!
Pour the ice cream base into an ice cube tray. You may need more than one ice cube tray. Add ice cream cubes overnight.

Once the cubes have cooled, remove the ice cream cubes and transfer them to your blender. Pulse the blender (I use the crushed ice base), several times, stop shaking the blender, and transfer the ice cream cubes to the blade if necessary. This may take some time and effort. If necessary, you can add plant-based milk to the mixture, but do not add too much or you may make your ice cream too thin.
For solids, hot ice cream spread the ice cream in a loaf or other freezer bags, and leave for a few more hours to make it stronger. You can use whatever you like like crumbled cookies, chocolate chips, nuts, or vegan cheesecake, or you can add peanut butter, almond butter, vegan caramel sauce, or strawberry jam. Once established, tap and enjoy!

Pour the cream into a large bowl or stand. Mix on high speed until stiff peaks form. You will also know that the whipped cream has a “stiff edge” when you lift the mixer from the bowl and the peaks of the whipped cream can stand on their own.
