Last year’s festival, the first to take place after the coronavirus hit, required attendees to show proof of vaccination or a negative coronavirus test to enter the grounds. Festival goers were also required to be covered, according to city guidelines at the time, but there was little compliance or enforcement.
Festival organizers did not immediately respond to a request about what, if any, COVID-19 rules or restrictions will be in place this year. The city briefly reinstated a mask mandate in April, but reversed it after just three days.
The 2021 festival, which featured Lil Baby, Megan Thee Stallion and Justin Bieber, took place in the immediate aftermath of Hurricane Ida, which caused historic flooding throughout the area and on nearby I-676 but generally spared the Parkway. A total of 34 acts played on three stages during the two-day festival.
