The bad news: All hotels have a non-negotiable daily resort (usually including things like wifi and gym access), which can sometimes be very close to the cost of your room.

One of the hotels-within-hotels that Vegas does very well is the Nobu Hotel at Caesars Palace, where the rooms are a cut above the general Caesars Palace. Nobu Matsuhisa worked with David Rockwell on the Japanese-inspired design: think calligraphy-like screens behind the bed and towels hanging on wooden ladders leaning against the black-tiled bathroom walls.
The hotel’s separate entrance, at the back of Caesars Casino, exudes an air of exclusivity, as does the in-room check-in. Everything in the rooms, from the art to the contents of the minibar, was chosen by Nobu himself, and 24-hour room service is provided by the world’s largest Nobu restaurant on the ground floor.
What was once the Monte Carlo has been reborn as this huge development that includes an Eataly food center and the T Mobile arena at the back. There’s a boutique feel to the rooms, with their mismatched art behind the bed, splashes of bottle green and claret on the walls and tiled bathrooms – that’s for sure, not over the top.

With Eataly’s food stands, this is a great bet if you don’t want to go out for dinner even though it’s in a decent location, on the south side of the CityCenter development and about a 15-minute walk from the Bellagio. Guest rooms at Stay Well include memory foam mattresses, air purifiers, and window seats.
Former Rat Pack favorite Sahara rejoined the Strip after a brief stint as “SLS” from 2014-2019. First opened in 1952, mid-century artists such as Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra and Jerry Lewis have been here. More than 1,500 rooms were renovated at a cost of $100 million. The rooms have a Moroccan theme again in the White Tower and are reminiscent of North African patterns on the headboards. Meanwhile, Marra Tower’s rooms are light and airy with a few surprises, including a rock star leather chair and bed, imagined by Lenny Kravitz. The Tower of Alexandria, however, is the best, with a touch of Versailles and delightful rooms: chandeliers, white chaise longues and carpets inspired by Marie-Antoinette. Despite its location on the North Strip (you’ll have to take a taxi to the action), the most extravagant rooms are definitely Las Vegas.
What used to be divey Bill’s Gamblin’ Hall was reborn in 2014 as The Cromwell Las Vegas, a relatively small hotel with “only” 188 rooms. It claims to have a British theme, although the Italian-style damask walls and chandeliers are not as English as the backgammon-style Chesterfield sofas and coffee tables. This is not your average casino hotel.

Named after Red Rock Canyon, a national conservation area, the Red Rock overlooks over 70 acres of land and the location means you’ll get more bang for your buck, some of the largest rooms in Las Vegas (with views of the Strip or the sandstone cliffs of Red Rock), a spacious swimming pool and an excellent spa.
The casino has natural light, unprecedented in Las Vegas, as well as onyx walls. If you are less bothered by your Instagram feed and value for money, this is a good option.

Not just physically, either: the apartment-style suites are non-smoking, oversized, and packed with high-tech amenities, deep soaking tubs, and pillowtop mattresses. All have stunning views of the Strip or desert, and some have kitchenettes.
