Hardcover books have become an increasingly sought-after accessory in the closet, making them harder to find and more expensive. Today I want to share with you the best places to buy hardcover books for decorating – and this list will be especially helpful for those of you on a budget!

I don’t want all the books on my shelves to be completely meaningless, so I try to have a good mix. When I buy or browse hard books, I look for books I’ve read before, books by authors I like, books with interesting titles, and then books with color schemes I’m trying to decorate. If I can’t find books I remotely recognize, I pick a color and a title. And for those of you who say you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover, that’s how I’ve found so many books and music artists to date. Sometimes it’s okay to choose something based on looks alone. They are usually marketed perfectly to people just like you!

Almost every city in the United States has a local Buy Nothing Facebook group. To find out if there’s one near you, or how you can help open one in your city, visit BuyNothingProject.org. They recently launched their platform for people who don’t have local Facebook groups to better connect with others to donate. . It’s not only about helping those who can’t afford the things they need for everyday life, but also donating the things you no longer want or need to someone who can. I am very thankful for everything that I was lucky enough to pass on to me. Call to get what you need and wait to see who can do it!

The Best Of Charles Dickens Volume 2: Charles Dickens: 9781848702424: Amazon.com: Books

If you don’t know exactly what books you’re looking for, you’ll be happy to find a hardcover in the $1 book section. If money is no object, you can also take part in a fun hunt for the books you loved reading as a child! I like to look through these sections for what I call “threats” or books that are among other very important books or for short holiday chapters. Shopping at your own bookstore is a great way to support local businesses and keep them going. That’s how I found some very unique finds in the dollar department, including the complete works of William Shakespeare!

Places like Five Below and the Dollar Tree often sell books that don’t sell very well. Thus, I filled my son’s library with special finds and even started buying hardbacks when I found them. My local dollar tree usually has a science fiction story, so every now and then I pick one up for my office shelf or Halloween decorations.

On my last two trips to donate some of our old books to our local little libraries, I made some interesting discoveries that made me cry out loud. One was a Starcraft book written for a video game franchise that Mike and I like to use for our office, and another for spring decorations in my kitchen that I read as a kid (title here). Understand that this is a book exchange system. If you buy books, please bring them back! Over the years, I’ve donated tons of books to small libraries around town because it’s a way of giving back to my community, like a take-nothing project. My city is very fortunate to have many residents offering their addresses for small libraries. To find a Little Free Library near you, visit LittleFreeLibrary.org.

There are many online websites that allow you to buy used and new hardcover books on a budget, such as eBay, Facebook Marketplace, Poshmark, Depop, Thriftbooks, Pangobooks, and Better World Books. eBay had a bookstore called Half.com, which was later merged with the main eBay website. Through them I found many used Harry Potter books to use at the wedding when I made paper flowers and shoes.

Case Study: Design An Application To Sell/buy Used Books

Be creative when looking for hardcover books. Thrift stores will always have a book section. Yard and estate sales can be very interesting and unique finds. Even grocery stores can surprise you from time to time! Support your local libraries when they sell books that patrons never touch.

Buying used books not only creates the appearance of an authentic library collection, but also helps keep more items out of the landfill. When you’re moving on from the antique book look, consider paying it forward by gifting it to someone else who wants to join the trend.

Let me know in the comments below where you find hardcover books or what your favorite book list looks like! I am now looking back at many of the books I have read since high school. I almost let go of my entire collection and hope to find some used ones by chance! I know I could easily buy them new because I still see them on the shelves, but what a story I’d rather get out of hunting them down!
