There are many factors to consider when deciding on the right type of door for you. Size can be a limiting factor as not all sizes are available in aluminum and fiberglass. Mobile Home Doors
Fiberglass is our material of choice when replacing mobile home doors because of its superior safety and durability. We order pre-hung doors from wood or composite casing. The outer skin is fiberglass, which provides the same safety as steel, but doesn’t scratch. The inner core is an insulating foam that provides a better R-value than wood. They offer the same beauty of wooden doors, but are safer, better weather resistant, require less maintenance and are less expensive. The level and tile are done, so you’ll want to paint the door to seal it. Traditionally, the doors are hinged, but we can order hinged doors in specific sizes.
Metal frame exterior aluminum doors are the most popular style of mobile home door. It is a cheaper option than fiberglass doors and is suitable for many occasions. They have an insulating foam core and a white aluminum strip and are pre-hung on a metal frame with a nailing edge for fastening. Airstreams are made of aluminum for a reason. they don’t rust and are lightweight. Today’s mobile home aluminum doors are engineered with other materials to create a long-lasting and more durable product.
We carry 6-panel fiberglass doors in all of our stock sizes and some with arched windows. Other window styles we commonly order are 9-lites, vent-lites (half-lites with open windows) and full-lites. If you’re looking for a specific style of door, talk to someone so we can get you a custom quote.
Aluminum roll-out doors are flush only (no panels), but window options are available. We carry 9-lites, sunburst and vertical dim sliders. We order pre-installed windows in most common door sizes, but customer-installed windows are also available. If you don’t want to do it yourself, we offer a ‘window cutting’ service and can arrange a window cutting right here in the shop before you walk through the door.
Mobile Home Exterior Doors
Old sliding patio doors are notoriously inefficient. A single panel or double panel with a broken seal does very little to prevent heat transfer. We can order vinyl sliding patio doors with energy efficient glass to help save on your heating and cooling costs. We have a limited number of sliders in stock, but we can custom order the door to your current specifications. If you want to completely change your style, we can order fiberglass French doors, both sliding and pivoting. French doors come in set widths, so if you provide us with the opening of your lattice frame where your sliders sit, we can figure out what size French doors will work for you. These are more expensive options, but they create a more aesthetic space with design and functionality. Having dual active doors makes it easy to get larger furniture/appliances in and out, and you can open the doors to enjoy the beautiful PNW summer weather.
