How Much Did Avengers Cost To Make – Marvel’s Avengers: Infinity War may be the biggest visual spectacle of the year, so it’s no surprise that Disney spent a few pennies bringing this epic spectacle to life.
According to Forbes, Infinity War cost $321.2 million to make, not including all the marketing and other promotional costs that could easily add millions more to the overall budget. Unsurprisingly, Infinity War is not the most expensive Marvel film, as you can see from the list of Marvel films made in the UK and revealed in publicly available financial statements:

Considered among the top 5 films of all time to cross the $2 billion mark. Endgame was named the top-grossing film for nearly two years before James Cameron’s Avatar was re-released with 3D effects.
Director Joe Russo shared the film’s cost in an interview at the Sands International Film Festival in St. Andrews. He claimed that one film cost more than $500 million to make. he said,
“I don’t know if these numbers have ever been reported accurately, but in the case of Avengers: Endgame or Infinity War, each of those movies grossed $500 million. So an incredible amount of money is being spent on these films.”

Director Joe Russo also shared that because of the big budget for the films, he and his brother Anthony have a responsibility to provide quality content.
“And you have a responsibility, if you have a conscience, to give some return on that investment to the people who gave you that money.”
The budget may seem incredible, but the scene for huge casts and big budget films has changed over time.

Avengers’ In Real Life: How Much Would It Cost To Be Iron Man? (video)
Marvel “$325-400 million” and Endgame costs “$356-400 million”. Typically, that’s the budget range you’ll see for online movies. (Probably everyone else uses Wikipedia for their numbers.) Combined, that would put the budget of the two films at roughly $681-800 million.
’s director Joe Russo, the actual cost of the two films was much higher. Speaking to a group of film students at the Sands International Film Festival in St. Andrews (via Deadline ), he revealed that “one of those movies is over $500 million.” In other words, a combined price tag for the latter two
Of course, it’s an investment that pays off in the end; The films grossed $4.7 billion worldwide. That’s just the money earned from theaters; And that doesn’t take into account the millions (or often billions) made from home video, or cable rights, or film merchandising and licensing. Still, $1 billion for two movies … a lot of money.
The topic came up while Russo was explaining some scenes in his filmmaking, and specifically the importance of surprising the audience—which can be tricky to do when there’s a half-billion-dollar surprise. Here’s how Russo explained it:
Amazon.com: Lego Marvel Avengers Iron Man Hulkbuster Versus A.i.m. Agent 76164, Cool, Interactive, Brick Build Avengers Playset With Minifigures (456 Pieces)
When you surprise people, you have a deeper impact on them. So if your expectations are met, you can be successful to some extent. But if they are suppressed, you can succeed at an even higher level. The trick with that is it’s very risky, because we’re talking about … you know, I don’t know if these numbers have ever been reported accurately, but in the case of Avengers: Endgame or Infinity War, each of those movies was over $500 million. So unimaginable amount of money is spent on these movies. And you have a responsibility, if you have a conscience, to give some return on that investment to the people who gave you that money. So it’s risky to say, ‘Hey, we’ve got a crazy idea, here’s how we’re going to subvert expectations, but we’re going to take your two most popular characters, and we’re going to try to kill each other.’
Russo explained that there were some within Marvel who were very resistant to the ending he and his brother wanted.
, which involved beating Iron Man and Captain America, while many other Avengers ended up in prison, while others went out as fugitives on the run from the law. According to Russo, the tension over whether or not to go ahead with a more traditional ending resulted in him and his brother almost walking out of the film in protest.
However, imagine betting hundreds of millions of dollars on an ending that you think will surprise and delight the audience. It must be intense.Released in consecutive years, total 331 minutes of content. The long run didn’t hurt the receipts, as both films easily sit in the top five lifetime grossers worldwide.
