At Things Past, a high-end boutique for furniture, Persian rugs, accents and artwork — everything from beds to baubles — just opened a second location in Rosedale. Mother’s Boat is a great way, a big one at 185 Bridgeland Ave.
This location, open since December 1, is more user-friendly and pedestrian-friendly, near the Rosedale subway station. Levitz clocked 75 walk-ins a day.
The original Bridgeland Ave. the store is a showroom displaying more than 22,000 square feet of fine furniture. They are in such condition, you forget they were used lightly. Their motto is “from one good house to another.”

Levitz, a former interior designer, recently sold the business and plans to cool down. He started it 17 years ago, inspired by furniture stores he saw in Florida. The first store is 4,000 square feet and not too long.
He still collects about 100 emails from prospective suppliers a day. The product has three terms of tags. The threshold is reduced by 15 percent after 60 days; an additional 10 percent is reduced every 30 days thereafter.
I’m all for a tan cowhide ottoman ($510) by the front window. I wanted him to walk me home but the cats would have a way with him.
There is a mouthful of Carole Tanenbaum vintage costume jewelry ranging from $150 to $500 for a beautiful green broach. A very nice Trifari shoe-clip pin is $450 and I was amazed at the great rhinestone bargains at the Sausalito Flea Market in California.

Hanging on the back wall is a beautiful painting by Polish artist Hanna Ruminski, who came here in 1981 and helped restore Bridgeland Ave. It’s yours for $870.
I took the afishionado bowl and brought it back the next day. The product has been removed or sold; The product arrived every day and it was snapped.
The doll house was replaced with a bird cage. But the ottoman was still there, calling my name.
