Students have the opportunity to gain confidence in their learning skills while working with clients at our on-site WAVE Dental Clinic.

About The Dental Hygiene Program
Graduates of this program are eligible to apply for the National Dental Hygienist Certification Exam. (Note: Additional fees apply.) Successful completion is one of the requirements for registration by the College of Dental Hygienists of Ontario (CDHO) to practice in the province. In semesters 1 and 2, students will first practice the newly learned dental hygiene skills on mannequins. In semesters 3, 4, 5 and 6, students will develop dental hygiene care processes and practices at our on-site WAVE Dental Clinic, and off-site with various community partners such as public health organizations. Our Insight WAVE Dental Clinic is approximately 40,000 square feet and has 75 efficient dental chairs, 14 additional chairs complete with X-ray facilities, and 24 enclosed dental suites for aerosol manufacturing procedures. The clinic provides a safe and controlled environment where students can practice their skills under the supervision of qualified oral health care professionals. During their field experiences, students will learn to provide care across the lifespan, treating clients with simple to complex oral health care needs.
Practice progression is designed to help students gain confidence in their knowledge of the various processes, tools and techniques necessary to become a successful dental hygienist.

This program will help you develop and strengthen new skills in mathematics, biology, chemistry, physics and communication. Please note: While successful graduates of the (A108) program will be eligible to apply to this Advanced Diploma, this does not guarantee entry into this programme.
Please note that Dental Hygiene is a full-time program. Classes may be Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Dental Hygiene Schools And Programs
Graduates who are actively registered with the Ontario College of Dental Hygiene and have at least one full year of clinical dental hygiene experience are eligible to apply to the George Brown Restorative Dental Hygiene Program (S400). Students in this graduate program learn to perform advanced rehabilitation procedures and preventative measures. Students interested in developing their skill set and expanding their scope of clinical practice should consider this program.
Dental hygiene graduates interested in advancing their careers beyond clinical practice should apply to our new Bachelor of Science (Dental Hygiene) (S305) fully online program.
