Runner-up in a small multidisciplinary project at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, Zero Competition gave me the opportunity to practice my leadership skills and overcome the hurdle of being the first team to represent our architecture program at the international level. Because of this unique opportunity, I am now a strong advocate of energy efficient design.
Designing in Miami is so much more than I expected. The expertise and care of the faculty, the thoughtfulness and relevance of the program, and the friendly and collaborative nature of the design community created an ideal environment for me to learn, grow, and explore my design dreams. At Gensler, I now lead a studio of designers building a better world through the power of design.
It’s inspiring to be a part of a program with professors and classmates who just want to see you succeed. I have had the opportunity to intern, study abroad in architecture, lead a professional organization, and make a difference to those around me. Now I have lifelong friends and mentors thanks to my time in this program, a job after graduation, and maybe even one more semester to beat.
