I hope I’m not the only one doing it before. I usually enjoy grocery shopping, but I recently discovered how awesome it is to use Walmart’s free grocery pickup service.
It was life changing. Not really. It’s here! I no longer buy or waste precious time going in and out of the store to get my groceries every week.

You order your groceries online, reserve a time slot for pickup, and a Walmart employee shops, bags, and brings your groceries to your car for you! They even load them in your car and this service is completely free. No need to pay tip or additional service fee.
It’s easy to do but I’m going to share everything you need to know when placing your own order.
Most importantly, make sure your local Walmart store offers groceries. You will need an account to order so you can do so at Walmart.com.
It’s quick and easy and all you need is an email address. Once you’re signed in, you click on the Grocery Pickup tab and it tells you if Pickup serves your area. If so, continue by entering your zip code, which will bring up your nearest Walmart stores. Choose the store you want to shop at and you’re good to go!

Picking Your Groceries I like to write a list in advance so I don’t get distracted and only stick to what I need. You can type a product or a general idea at the top of the screen and all your options will come up.
For example, if you put in “Orange Juice” a variety of brands and sizes will appear, and after choosing what you want you click “Add to Cart.” When it comes to produce or meat, you can choose how many pounds of each item you need so it’s easy to customize to fit your needs.
Bonus tip: Every time you log in to place an order it saves some of your most used products on the main screen so you can quickly add them. I always have paper towels, cheese, yogurt and milk pop up!
After you complete your list, it will ask you to select a time to pick up. You can choose in one hour increments that allow you to go anytime within that hour window.
Walmart Plus Membership: How It Works & What You Get
It will ask if you allow substitutions. Sometimes items may be out of stock. If you click the Allow Substitutions arrow, Grocer will find a substitute for it.
Usually, they will upgrade you to a larger size or give you a different brand at no extra cost! Whenever we buy a store brand item, and they have to substitute, it’s always the more expensive brand (and they charge you less!).
Walmart will send you an email before your time slot opens to let you know your groceries are ready. I never have to wait and my groceries are always ready on time. You can download a grocery pickup app on your phone that lets you check in so they know you’re on your way.
Once you arrive at your store, follow the grocery pickup signs to the pickup area and pull into the reserved parking spots.
