Easy 2 Ingredient Ice Cream Recipes You Will Love!
This vanilla ice cream recipe calls for four ingredients: milk, sugar, sugar, and vanilla. Because this recipe is all about vanilla, you’ll want to use the best pure vanilla extract you can find, and steer clear of imitation vanilla.
To take your vanilla drink to the next level, you can substitute avanilla beans for vanilla extract. Here’s how: Using a paring knife, split a vanilla bean in half lengthwise. Remove the seeds and add them and the pods to cream, milk, and sugar. Refrigerate the mixture for at least 30 minutes (overnight is better). Remove the pod and freeze your ice cream as usual.
Most ice cream products use egg yolks for flavor, color, and to prevent ice crystallization, which makes the ice cream more dense. In egg-free recipes like this one, you can get this look by using whole milk.
Although any milk will work, the added butterfat in whole milk (along with the cream!) helps keep the texture of your ice cream while it’s stored in the fridge. For example, after two days in the freezer, an ice cream made with 1 percent milk will become slightly frozen. Although it is still very tasty, the texture may be a bit disappointing.
Ingredient Homemade Ice Cream
Making this ice cream is as easy as dissolving the sugar in the milk, then stir in the sugar and vanilla and transfer it all to your dough to churn according to your machine’s instructions show.
With ice cream recipes that start with the custard, once you’ve made the mixture you usually need to put it in the fridge before putting it in the ice maker. However, because this is a no-cook recipe, the milk and sugar must still be cold, so you can go directly from mixing the base to churning, which can take up to 15 minutes!
Remember that right after churning, your ice cream will have the texture of the stock. If you want hard ice cream, transfer it to the freezer for a few hours to firm up. Although that will delay your home remedies a bit, the simplicity of preparing this recipe is still worth it.
“The simple non-vanilla ice cream is delicious as is or the base is excellent for stirring in many ingredients. I use bourbon as vanilla extract and am happy with the results. Next time I will buy Stir in the vanilla bean paste to enjoy the sight of the beautiful vanilla bean specks.” – Mary Jo Romano

Homemade Ice Cream: Temperature Tips You Need
After posting my recipe for my homemade vanilla ice cream last week, I had many people ask how they can make ice cream without a machine. After a bit of experimenting, I found the best and easiest method using ice trays and a washing machine. Of course, using an ice machine will always give the best results, but after comparing the two methods, this mixing method produces ice that is pretty close! Making your own vegan ice cream saves money and also tastes better than store bought. I’m obsessed!
It’s easy! Just make an ice cream base recipe, pour the ice cream base into an ice cream bowl, and then freeze overnight. The next day, add the ice cream to the blender, and pulse the mixture until you reach a smooth ice cream. Add more juice if needed.
I recommend starting with my Vegan Vanilla Ice Cream recipe. If you have an ice cream maker, use it, but if you don’t, use this method instead. Once you get the hang of it, feel free to experiment and try other flavors.
Yes, you can do it but I found that it is not done according to the blender process. The whisk process requires a lot of attention and the results are not as creamy. If you want to try this technique, make your ice cream base, and pour it into a large bowl that is freezer-safe. Put the bowl in the refrigerator, and every hour, remove the bowl from the freezer and stir the ice mixture and mix the air. You can alternate using a standing machine if you have one. Return to the refrigerator and return every hour to whip again, until you reach an ice cube. This will take about 8 hours.
How To Make Ice Cream Without Heavy Cream
Prepare your ice cream base according to the instructions in the recipe. Make sure that the map is not larger than can fit in your machine. I used my recipe for Vegan Vanilla Ice Cream. Yes!
Pour the ice cream base into an ice bowl. You may need more than one bowl of ice cream. Leave the ice cream cubes overnight.
Once the cubes are frozen, pop out the ice cream cubes and transfer to your blender. Pulse the blender (I use ice cream), several times, stopping to scrape the sides of the machine, and push the ice cream between the blades if needed. This will take some time and effort. If needed you can add more fruit juice to the mixture, but don’t add too much or you can make your ice cream thin.
For firmer, scoopable ice cream spread the ice cream in a loaf pan or other container for the refrigerator, and freeze for a few more hours to firm up. You can choose your favorite ingredients like cookies, chocolate chips, nuts, or vegan cheesecake pieces, or you can make it with peanut butter, almond butter, vegan caramel sauce, or strawberry jam. Once frozen, stir and enjoy!
