When I was a child, ice cream was a rare treat that we had during the summer. I still remember the first time Mom bought me an ice cream bar called Little Snowman Ice Cream (娃娃头雪糕), a signature snack that many Chinese children of the 80’s remember fondly. I discovered that ice cream isn’t just for summer when my American friends made me blueberry pie with vanilla ice cream on top on a cold winter day. Ice cream is available year-round in many American homes, grocery stores, and ice cream shops.
