Organic Non Toxic Cleaning Products – A comprehensive list of the best non-toxic cleaning products. We cover every category of your home, so no matter what you’re cleaning, we have a non-toxic option.

When it comes to the food we eat, most of us are aware of the harmful effects of chemicals such as pesticides, additives and preservatives. We know that ingesting those harmful chemicals and toxins can be harmful to our health. And we try to avoid them as much as possible.

We are also starting to become more aware of the chemicals that go into beauty and skin care products as well. Since our skin is our largest organ, we know that what we put on our skin is also absorbed into our blood. So again, trying to avoid those chemicals whenever possible.

Our house? Do we consider the harsh and toxic chemicals we use to clean our countertops, wash our dishes, clean our clothes, use on our floors, etc.? I would say that for many of us, the answer is no.

Fortunately, there are TONS of options for non-toxic cleaning products. And in every category, too! So today I’m rounding up some of the best non-toxic cleaning products and sharing some of my favorites (including the ones I use in my own home). Even if you switch out one of the products you use with one of these non-toxic options, my heart will be so happy!

NOTE: This post has been updated since it was originally published and all products have been approved by the EWG

Universal detergents are the same – they are used on most surfaces! This means that you are likely to use these cleaners on surfaces that are used frequently, such as countertops, coffee tables, handles, and other things that you touch all the time. If you use traditional cleaning products, then not only will you get them on your hands, but they will probably end up on some of your food.

Spruce Refillable Cleaning Products

I found this to be the easiest switch because there are so many fantastic options! The best non-toxic all-purpose cleaners we’ve found include:

The next category I want to share is disinfectant wipes. I use them constantly in my kitchen to clean counters, so it’s one of those things that will almost always end up on my food. I have a few different options for non-toxic wipes, but I’ve also included some non-toxic disinfectant wipes and some non-toxic screen wipes (for computer or cell phone).

The kitchen is where we prepare our food, so even if we’re eating super clean, organic food, if we’re cleaning with toxic chemicals, we’re denying it. If you think about all the things you use in the kitchen to clean, you’ll quickly see where the chemicals collect. It’s not just our countertops, it’s the soap we use to clean our pots, pans and cutting boards, it’s the detergent we use to clean all our dishes and silverware.

Each of these things touch our food and therefore transfer their chemicals into our bodies. I have quite a list of non-toxic kitchen cleaning products, so feel free to choose what makes sense for you:

Cleaning Products A Big Source Of Urban Air Pollution, Say Scientists

This one for me is a little less important because I don’t necessarily ingest things that touch surfaces in my bathroom. But nevertheless, I physically touch these surfaces, so it’s another one of those areas to think about cleaning.

One of the things I’ve been thinking about recently was the importance of a non-toxic toilet bowl cleaner, as Trevi sometimes drinks the fresh water from our toilet (yes, it’s gross, but it’s a reality for many pet owners). I want to make sure they don’t ingest chemicals as well, so I made the switch instantly.

On this list of non-toxic bathroom cleaners, we have tub/shower cleaners as well as toilet bowl cleaners:

! Think about it… you wash your clothes, towels, sheets, kitchen towels, pillowcases. Almost everything you come into contact with on a regular basis.

Non Toxic Cleaning Products

Unfortunately, this is not something many of us think about, but luckily there are non-toxic laundry options for all categories. We have detergents, brighteners, stain removers, conditioner and even non-toxic bleach!

Next, we will talk about cleaning glass and mirrors. I would say for me, these are the lowest priority on the list because I honestly don’t use them much. I don’t have many mirrors in the apartment and we don’t clean our own windows (this is a construction thing), so I’ve had the same non-toxic glass cleaner for about 3 years.

And finally, we finish our non-toxic cleaning post with a general category. These are the cleaning items you may not use often but still have tucked away in your closet. Things like furniture cleaners, wood cleaners, stainless steel cleaners, detergents, etc. All those things we don’t think about – and maybe don’t use often – but can still be full of harmful chemicals.

Go through your closet. If you have something over 3 years old, throw it away and get a new one. If not, wait until you finish the bottle of stuff you have and replace it with the non-toxic version!

My goal is always to help you be healthier in all areas of your life, so my hope is that you can make some changes at home that will have a huge impact on your overall health. Also, just a reminder that you don’t have to make the switch all at once. I would suggest doing an audit of what you have and determining which items you want to change first.

Otherwise, you can take it a little slower and swap them out as you use up the older ones!

So I’d love to hear from you: Do you use any of these products at home? Is there a brand I might be missing? Let me know in the comments! So today I’m going to blog about the best non-toxic cleaning products! If you pick up your current cleaning products and read the ingredients, chances are you’ll see things like diethylene glycol – an ingredient that can be fatal if swallowed, fragrance – one of the worst offenders in today’s cleaning products, with links to allergic reactions , skin irritation and potential cancer, sulfates – more links to eye, skin and respiratory irritation, and more.
