I find that when the kids are at my house for a long time, I’m dying for some cool craft projects for them to do so they don’t get bored.

Cool Stuff To Make At Home

I’m not the most “plan in advance” type of mother, but at least I like to think I know how to put together a simple craft station from time to time! LOL

Fun Activities To Stop Kids Saying… ‘i’m Bored!’

Even though my kids are 12, 9 and 7, they still love making simple crafts with materials we have on hand.

If you’re looking for creative arts & crafts ideas for your kids to do during recess or while school is out, read on because I found some really cool things to make that are super easy!

I hope you like them as much as I do – I’ll start with the first and fourth ideas, then if my kids like them, we’ll make more as time allows during their free time from school.

Small Crafts You Can Make With Your Friends

At 39, I even like the idea of making these for our dining room windows to cheer the place up a bit during the cold weather!

I can remember making them and hanging them in the window and just looking at the sun as it filtered through.

This galaxy jar project from MomDot serves two purposes – first, you’ll have fun making them and second, they’re pretty soothing to spin around and look at.

Many people use these types of jars as “calm down” jars. I don’t know about you, but sometimes as a mom I love the idea of relaxing! Something about the colors and textures of these jars is so relaxing!

Things To Do When You’re Bored At Home

You may already have mason jars on hand, but depending on the age of your children, you may want to get these plastic mason jars for safety reasons.

These are just the cutest flowers that kids of all ages love! Play Based Mom created these coffee filter flowers specifically for preschoolers to make, but I think they would be beautiful in a faux flower arrangement and I personally would love to make them too.

I think this is one of the COOLEST projects in this list! They are not only beautiful, but they are also practical!

I actually need coasters for my living room, so I think the kids and I will do this project first!

I love the idea of starting with something that is so simple and useful at the same time!

I am a complete sucker for all things customization and my kids – no matter how old they get – LOVE LOVE LOVE to color.

They would get a real kick out of this craft. It’s an especially good thing to do if you have a lot of randomly broken crayons lying around your playroom like we do! LOL

I doubt you have an alphabet silicone mold like this lying around your house, so this one will require you to order some supplies.
