To fix this you need to drill the starter holes further inward. Hopefully you have a powerdrill with a drillhead. This is a ludicrous oversight that leaves the holes too deep. I don’t understand how it passed their test, because if you follow the instructions you separate the screw heads. If they had literally made the holes a centimeter deep, just a centimeter, this would have been avoided. Only purchase this product if you have a power drill for deepening screw holes. After you remove the screw heads you will still need to order 16 new screws.1

When I moved, took the bed apart and reassembled the headboard and footboard my bed squeaked with any movement and would not go into place. Very disappointed that I will have to replace.3
