How Much Is Mercedes Benz C Class
Unless you want the open air or extra features of the coupe, the sedan is the best and most satisfying of the C-class models. The C300 comes standard with rear-wheel drive; Benz’s 4Matic all-wheel-drive is a $2000 option. Among the many extras available, we’d consider the $1500 Premium package, which adds SiriusXM satellite radio, an audio upgrade, and lighting. . But beware that many of the optional packages are bundled together and can push the price of the car well over $50,000.
Mercedes Benz C Class Review
The turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine powers all C300 models and generates 255 horsepower and 273 pound-feet of torque, getting the Mercedes off the line without delay. The nine-speed automatic transmission does the shift work. All-wheel drive is standard, but you can get all-wheel drive (called 4Matic) for two grand more. In our test of the C300 4Matic sedan, the car hit 60 mph in 5.4 seconds. The engine is reasonably muted at idle and at highway speeds, but its soundtrack at full throttle is less appealing than you’d expect. In our recent comparison of entry-luxury sports sedans, the C300’s acceleration results were placed in the middle, as the BMW 330i and Alfa Romeo Giulia 2.0T were faster.
The best fuel choice in the C-class lineup is the sedan C300, with EPA ratings of 24 mpg city and 33 mpg highway, but the 4Matic isn’t far behind, managing 23 and 33 mpg, respectively. . Competitors such as the BMW 3-series offer better fuel economy (up to 26 mpg city and 36 mpg highway). The car-driven C300 coupe we tested achieved a real-world result of 33 mpg on the highway—2 mpg better than its EPA rating.
The look and feel of the C-class cabin is suitably ritzy, although it’s not as modern-looking as some of the newer models in the Mercedes lineup, such as the recent S-class. The touchscreen hovers above the sleek center stack that holds the three air vents. The switchgear feels heavy and substantial, and the choice for leather upholstery and wood interior accents bring the cabin even to uptown. Sedans offer 13 cubic feet of trunk space. That figure is on par with the cargo capacity of the Audi A4, but it’s less than you’ll get with the BMW 3-series, which offers 17 cubic feet.
Mercedes-Benz equips the base C-class with a 7.0-inch central display screen, Bluetooth phone and streaming audio, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration. Dual USB ports are standard, along with HD radio and five speakers. If you need a little more screen space, you can upgrade to a 10.3-inch medium color display. Other options include a Burmester surround-sound system and a built-in mixer.

The 2021 Mercedes-Benz C-class has not yet been tested by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), but the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has named it a Top Safety Pick+, earning the top score the last hill. The Mercedes-Benz C-class offers a warranty that is on par with the services offered by many of its rivals. Note, however, that you will get longer protection with the Genesis G70. The new sedan’s wheelbase is 1.0 inches longer than its predecessor, while the body is 2.5 inches longer, 0.4 inches wider, and has a 0.4-inch-shorter height than before; we think the new model is more sporty. The 2022 C300 and C300 4Matic are equipped with a turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-four engine that produces a respectable 255 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. These numbers make it competitive in its segment against rivals including the Audi A4, BMW 3-series, and Genesis G70. The new C-class car features Mercedes 48-volt electric start/electric engine EQ Boost system, which can add up to 20 horsepower and 148 pound-feet of torque. Mercedes claims that the engine is 10 to 15 percent more powerful than the previous four-cylinder without hybrid assistance. A nine-speed automatic is an optional transmission. More powerful AMG models, as well as coupe and cabriolet variants, are expected in the future.
The design of the 2022 C-class borrows a lot from the smaller A-class, and the new look is gone with the slightly bulbous rear end of the previous generation. The sharper, more angular-looking front end and cleaner profile give the C-class the look it needs to compete visually with offerings from BMW and Audi.
The biggest changes are seen inside, mirroring the mild design found in the 2021 S-class. An 11.9-inch touchscreen has crossed the middle of the dash, pushing three vents to the top of the display. Meanwhile, the center-console touchpad and knobs found in the previous C-class are gone. The result is a less cluttered center stack with a few physical buttons. The screen uses the latest version of the company’s MBUX software, which Mercedes says is more functional than previous generations.
The remaining tactile controls include knobs and buttons for drive mode, camera view, vehicle settings, lighting, and volume control. There is also a fingerprint sensor for logging into a driver’s profile. Behind the leather steering wheel is a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster.

Standard equipment includes 18-inch wheels, heated front seats, sunroof, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto functionality. Available options include a head-up display, additional driver assistance, 19-inch wheels, nappa leather upholstery, a heated steering wheel, wireless charging, and AMG body styling and interior trim.
Mercedes hasn’t announced pricing yet, but we’re guessing that the rear-wheel-drive 2022 C300 will start at around $43,000 while the all-wheel-drive C300 4Matic will fetch $45,000. Both are expected in US showrooms in early 2022.
