Trader Joe’s is my favorite grocery store. It’s more than business-It’s fun! Their hand drawn price tags? The organic lollipops they gave my 3 year old when we went shopping? The best employees who are loyal are like my friends, and we stop and chat and catch up when I’m shopping because I’m there so often.
Trader Joe's Frozen Tuna Steaks

Remember, the products at Trader Joe’s vary from season to season. For example, in summer you will find peaches in stock, in winter you will find spaghetti squash. I made this shopping guide in January 2022 at my Trader Joe’s in Danville, California. I will update this guide regularly to keep it updated.
The Best Healthy Snacks At Trader Joe’s
Also, this is not supported in any way! I just love Trader Joe’s. More than love Trader Joe’s. And you’ll also find plenty of fresh produce, pre-made produce, frozen vegetables, pantry staples, nuts, and healthy snacks at Trader Joe’s.
Any fruit or vegetable! (Except corn, peas & lima beans) Organic is always best. I took pictures of all the fruits and vegetables, but decided it was overkill to include all of them, ha!
I was so excited when Trader Joe’s started carrying lots of parsley and cilantro in 2018!
Trader Joe’s has tons of vegetable and fruit options to save you time on meal prep and dinner prep. Here are all the pre-ordered fruits and vegetables that are Whole30 according to Trader Joe’s.
Spicy Tuna Roll • Just One Cookbook
I get my meat from ButcherBox, which is the best and the best match for the Whole30 program. (Here’s why I recommend it.) But Trader Joe’s sells organic meat that seems to be my next best option. Plus sausages and lunch meats that ButcherBox doesn’t carry.
Homemade is best, but sometimes there are those busy nights when you need protein fast and easy.
I get my meat from ButcherBox, which is the best and the best match for the Whole30 program. (Here’s why I recommend it.) But Trader Joe’s sells organic meat like that would be my second choice. As well as frozen seafood that ButcherBox does not carry.
Frozen vegetables are great in soups and casseroles! Frozen fruit is always picked and frozen at the peak of freshness. Delicious defrosted for a snack or added to a salad.
Frittata Your Way
There are so many great things to stock up on in your pantry to enhance your meals! In addition, there are many kinds of olives, tomatoes, cans, olives, etc. I photograph what I like. Be sure to read the notes!
All of the dried herbs except Chile Lime contain sugar, and also avoid the vanilla flavor and get pure vanilla extract.
Use in sauces, dressings, and dinners. There is also a lot of olive oil and balsamic vinegar, I took a photo of my favorite. Always read your posts! Remember, all Trader Joe’s mustards, ketchup and mayonnaise are not all 30 percent.
That’s right! More! Quick! There are tons to choose from. I photograph what I like. Always read your label to avoid sugar/bad fat/butter/etc.

Great news! We can enjoy American-caught seafood by shopping at Trader Joe’s. That means, even if you live in a pretty landlocked state, TJ’s affordable prices make wild products accessible and affordable. As a bonus, they’re supporting US workers in the economy in the process – what’s not to like?
Many fishermen trade fish to seafood processors. The process buys fish from fishermen (such as sockeye salmon from fishermen in Bristol Bay, Alaska), then packages and ships them to various stores nationwide. Retailers then slapped on the private label to make it attractive to market, and TJ’s happened to be one.
Below are the American seafood products that caught my eye on my last merchant hunt. Now I’m wondering if there are a few in the pasta or pre-made food that I can’t get…hmm. The following are items that I have seen on a regular basis. Bon Appetit!
An Ode To Frozen Vegetables
This is like a munchie day game. I like the idea of celery, carrots, and dip with fish asked for appetizers. I bet these will air-fry perfectly! Or you can slice the pasta on flour tortillas, then add cabbage and salsa for easy tacos.
Eat a regular tuna sandwich but make it salmon! I’m thinking about toasted sourdough with a slice of white cheddar cheese, crunchy lettuce, a thick spread of salmon, tomato, and a few sweet pickled jalapeño slices. What will you do?
I don’t have jewelry, but I bet these would kick the heels of one. This may be a turning point – I think I’ve also seen dolphins before. I made a very easy and quick tomato fish soup recipe that makes chunked cod in less than 5 minutes!
Now, I’m dreaming of a pasta dish with broccoli rabe and garlic, and a hunk of buttery french bread. Speaking of which, TJ’s has bomb organic French bread. Try slathering it with their Cambozola triple-cream blue cheese, and thank me later.
Trader Joe’s Recipes That Only Require 4 Ingredients
These are made from Alaska pollock, and I could eat the hell out of them right now. As a child, I loved scooping fish sticks in mashed potatoes, then dipping them into sweet peas for every bite. (Full disclosure: When I hear, “fish sticks” I immediately think of the iconic fish-sticks South Park episode. I can’t help it.)
This looks like a nice version of fish sticks. And since it’s cod, the meat is a little firmer but still flaky and tender. This looks like “fish and chips” to me. If you want to go all-in for the traditional way, I believe that the frozen French fries in a few steps.
Trader Joe’s has gluten free options! Try a gluten-free corn tortilla for fish tacos. Or serve with baked potatoes and a simple salad. Together with a bright Sauvignon blanc, or, for a mocktail version, try sparkling water with a splash of pineapple Kombucha in a wine glass.
Every time I see a sockeye, I think, did my husband catch it? My guess is that this is from Bristol Bay, which means that one of these gold fishermen probably had a hand in it. Plus, salmon cake is super easy to make with sockeye. Click here for a simple seafood recipe that you shake in a mason jar. Just substitute Pacific rockfish for salmon!
Tuna Avocado Boats
Here’s a big hunk of yummy salmon for you! And Trader Joe’s has a great recipe for salmon quiche that you can eat for breakfast or serve with a salad for a great breakfast. De-lis!
